May is finally here, and it’s my favorite month in the Spring. I’m sharing my favorite beauty tips and products to transition into warmer weather. I stopped by my local MAC Cosmetics store this week and picked up the products that you see in the picture.
To get that luminous skin with a natural glow use a sheer foundation or a BB cream. I recommend having two foundations, one for winter and one for summer as our tone changes in the summer so it’s important to match your foundation to a darker complexion. Just as you rotate your wardrobe during the fall, winter, spring and summer months, you should do the same with your makeup, especially your foundation. Make sure you’re layering on the SPF as well if your foundation or BB cream doesn’t have it.
The best way to add some color to your complexion is with some blush. For me who is very fair I use soft pink or light coral colors. If you have a medium complexion use the darker pink or peach colors, and for the dark complexion use berry or fuchsia color blush.
I love a good eyeshadow palette! With so many palettes on the market, look for a palette that ties together neutral, light, and dark shades. I suggest going with a palette that can provide you with a day look and can also be used in the evening as well.
Matte lipstick formulas have gotten a major upgrade this past year. My personal favorite is the new collection by MAC Cosmetics called Powder Kiss Lipstick, it’s matte and hydrating at the same time. I actually bought several colors because I liked it so much. Try the colors Reverence, Sultriness or A Little Tamed, all of these would be great for spring and would look good with any complexion tone.
One product that I always feel gets overlooked is Finishing Powder. It can be used alone or on top of the foundation. If used alone it gives the complexion a slightly polished look without looking like you’re wearing makeup. When used on top of the foundation it softens the appearance and takes away the shine. I use both translucent and color finishing powders depending on how much coverage I want. Either way everyone should be using some sort of finishing powder.
Stay Beautiful and Happy!
